국문 초록

본고는 한국 대학에서 수학을 목적으로 하는 외국인 유학생들의 수학능력을 예측할 수 있는 지표로서의 학문 목적 한국어능력시험 쓰기 개발 방향에 있어서의 실제적인 문항 도구 제안에 목적을 둔다. 최근 한류에 따른 한국에 대한 관심이 급증하고 있고 국내의 외국인 유학생 유치 노력에 힘입어 국내 대학에서 학업 수행을 목적으로 입학하려는 외국인 유학생의 수는 증가하고 있다. 현재 실시되고 있는 일반 목적 한국어능력시험(S-TOPIK)의 쓰기 문항을 살펴보면 전반적인 문형 중심의 이해 문제가 주를 이루며, 배운 문법 유형들을 잘 이해하고 있는가에 초점을 둔 어휘나 문장구조 등을 강화시키기 위한 연습 위주의 통제 작문 중심의 활동들이 대부분을 차지하고 있는데 한국어의 학습 목적이 대학이나 대학원에 진학하여 학업을 수행하기 위한 것이라면 보다 실제적인 사고력과 문제 해결력 중심의 학문 목적 쓰기 평가 도구가 구축되어야 할 것이라고 본다. 이에 본고에서는 현재 활용되고 있는 일반 목적 한국어능력시험의 쓰기 문항을 살펴본 후 학문 목적 학습자들의 문제해결력과 비판력, 판단력 등의 실제적인 언어 사용능력을 평가할 수 있는 학문 목적 중심의 서술형 평가 문항의 유형을 제안하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of questions in A-TOPIK and to develop or propose new types of writing questions for foreign students who hope to study at korean universities. Most of the foreigner students having advanced language ability or having taken intermediate or higher courses of korean language institutes in their university seem to have difficulties to accomplish their study. Test Of Proficiency In Korean(TOPIK) has been recognized as the official test to evaluate language proficiency and communication skills for foreign students. But we know the fact that general TOPIK(S-TOPIK) has lack of questions having trouble of measuring their abilities properly just as we’d hoped. This paper was analyzed the types of questions in the writing section of S-TOPIK and pointed out several questions as a test for academic purpose based on the analysis of writing. Moreover this paper emphasizes the importance of the use of learning strategies on acquiring the writing skills for academic purpose. It is also well known by many kinds of surveys that most of students studying Korean language use many strategies to save and retrieve information later easily. So this kinds of strategies should be selected and trained to students through the intensive course in classroom directly. This study is limited within writing part of TOPIK for academic purpose but it is some meaningful work to make it a good guidance in developing and suggesting the better types of questions in A-TOPIK for preferable content validity.
