국문 초록
본 연구는 외국인 유학생의 수업 중 발표에서 보조 자료의 활용 양상을 분석하여 외국인 유학생들을 위한 공식적 발표의 교육 내용을 마련하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 외국인 유학생들의 발표를 촬영하여 이를 청중과의 매개체로서의 보조 자료의 활용, 발표 내용의 요약적인 제시물로서의 보조 자료의 활용, 발표 내용에 대한 보충 자료로서의 보조 자료의 활용이라는 세 가지 측면에서 분석하였다. 그 결과 외국인 유학생들은 동작 언어와 담화 표지 사용에 어려움을 겪고 있었고, 내용을 요약적으로 제시하는 보조 자료를 작성하지 못하고 있었으며, 보조 자료에 있는 내용을 충분히 부연 설명하는 데에도 미숙했다. 그리고 사진이나 동영상 자료를 적절하게 제시하지 못하는 모습도 볼 수 있었다. 이에 청중과의 매개체로서의 보조 자료의 활용, 발표 내용의 요약적인 제시물로서의 보조 자료의 활용, 발표 내용에 대한 보충 자료로서의 보조 자료의 활용의 세 가지 측면의 능력을 향상시키기 위한 교육이 필요함을 주장하였다.
영문 초록
This study analyzes class presentations by the international students and seeks the contents for teaching them how to make a formal presentation in Korean. For this, presentations by international students were videotaped and analyzed in terms of their use of supplementary materials from three different perspectives：materials as a medium between the presenter and the audience, as a means of providing summary of the contents and as a means of providing further information. The result shows that international students have difficulty in making appropriate use of body language and discourse markers. Also, they could not provide adequate supplementary materials for summarizing the contents of their presentations. addition, it was also found that they could not choose and provide appropriate picture or video clips. This study argues that it is necessary to educate international students to increase their ability of making use of visual materials as a medium between the presenter and the audience, as a means of providing summary of the contents and as a supplementary material to provide further information.
