중학생이 지각하는 사회적 지지와 행복감의 구조적 관계

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 중학생이 지각하는 사회적 지지(부모, 친구, 교사지지)와 행복감의 구조적 관계를 자아존중감의 매개효과를 중심으로 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 방법 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원의 한국아동⋅청소년패널조사 2018(Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018; KCYPS 2018)의 중1 패널의 2차년도 자료인 중학교 2학년(2,438명) 자료를 사용하였다. 구조방정식 모형을 활용한 분석을 통해 변인들 간의 구조적 관계와 매개효과를 확인하였다. 결과 주요 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 중학생이 인식한 자아존중감은 행복감에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났지만 사회적 지지의 부모, 친구, 교사지지는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 부모지지와 친구지지는 행복감에 직접적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났지만 자아존중감을 매개하였을 때 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 교사지지는 행복감에 미치는 직접적인 영향과 자아존중감을 매개한 간접적인 영향 모두 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 결론 주요 연구 결과를 바탕으로 청소년이 지각하는 행복감을 향상시키기 위한 시사점과 함께 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to verify the structural relationship among middle school student’s social support(parental, peer and teacher support), self-esteem, and happiness. Methods For this purpose, the structural equation modeling was applied to the wave 2 of 1st grade middle school students panel of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018(N=2,438) conducted by the Korea Youth Policy Research Institute. Results Result are as follows. While student perception of self-esteem had a significant positive effect on happiness, student perception of social support(parental, peer, and teacher) did not have a significant effect on happiness. And while student perception of parental, peer support did not have a significant direct effect on happiness, it shows a significant indirect effect on happiness through self-esteem as a mediator. Student perception of teacher support did no have a significant effect on happiness both of direct and indirect. Conclusions Based on the results of the study, the implication to improve happiness of middle school students and suggestions for future research are discussed.
