영문 초록

This study investigated on the species distribution based on the phenotypic and genetic characteristics of staphylococcal isolates from hands and cellular-phones of college students in Korea Politechnics. Staphylococcal isolates were identified using the API-Kit and Multiplex-PCR systems for amplification of two genes(coa & nuc). According to the results, Staphylococcus xylosus(31.8%) found the most prevalent and the others were identified in order, S. sciuri(18.2%), S. saprophyticus(9.1%), S. cohnii ssp. urealyticus(9.1%), S. aureus(9.1%), respectively. Fortunately, S. aureus, which was the most pathogenic strain, was found as the rare staphylococcal species among the healthy college students. This result was the first report on staphylococcal species distribution patterns on hands and cellular -phones from the college students.
