COVID-19 has dealt a huge blow to most countries and industries around the world, and in the case of the hotel industry in particular, profitability has deteriorated significantly as people's movement is restricted. In particular, due to the spread of COVID-19, representative hotels in Korea have been closed, and the sharp decline in domestic travelers has resulted in paid or unpaid leave, or dismissal, except for the minimum manpower required for hotel operation. This restructuring acted as a cause of increased job instability and job stress among hotel employees. Therefore, this study analyzed the relationship between fear of COVID-19, job insecurity, and job stress perceived by hotel employees in relation to these social phenomena, and analyzed the moderating effect of perceived organizational support among variables. To achieve the purpose of the study, an online survey was conducted between June and August 2022 targeting employees working at 5-star hotels located in Busan and Jeju Island, and the collected survey data was used to prove the research hypothesis. did As a result, it was found that the Fear of COVID-19 affected job insecurity, and job insecurity also affected job stress. And, among other things, perceived organizational sponsorship has been shown to moderate the relationship between Fear of COVID-19 and job insecurity. Based on these findings, this study discussed the managerial implications of how hotel companies will respond to job insecurity caused by COVID-19.
