국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 노인의 자아통합감과 죽음불안 및 사회적 지지 간의 관계를 파악하는 것이다. 연구 대상자는 5개 시에 거주하고 있는 65세 이상 노인 총 224명이었다. 연구방법은 구조화된 질문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였고 수집된 자료는 빈도, 퍼센트, 평균, 표준편차, t-test, ANOVA 및 Pearson correlation coefficient 통계기법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 자아통합감과 죽음 불안 간에는 통계적으로 유의미한 음의 상관관계가 있었으며, 자아통합감과 사회적 지지 간에는 유의미한 양의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로, 노인의 자아통합감을 향상시켜 주기 위해서는 죽음불안을 낮추어주고 사회적 지지를 높여주는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구 결과는 노인의 자아통합감 관련 후속연구를 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있으며, 향후에는 노인의 거주 유형별 특성을 고려하는 자아통합감 향상 프로그램 개발 연구의 수행을 제언하는 바이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between ego integrity, death anxiety and social support of the elderly. The subjects of the study were a total of 224 elderly people aged 65 or older living in 5 cities. The research method collected data using structured questionnaires, the collected data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficient statistical techniques. The result of the study showed that there was a statistically significant negative correlation between ego integrity and death anxiety, and there was a significant positive correlation between ego integrity and social support. In conclusion, in order to improve the ego integrity of the elderly, it is necessary to lower death anxiety and increase social support. The results of this study can be used as basic data for subsequent studies related to the ego integrity of the elderly, and in the future, it is suggested to carry out research on the development of ego integrity improvement program considering the characteristics of the elderly residence type.
