영문 초록

This study attempted to investigate changes in the cervical range of motion and respiratory volume when manipulation treatment was given to those suffering from forward head syndrome (FHS). For posture measurements, a total of 42 subjects were divided into two groups: cervical group, thoracic group. In the cervical group, both cervical range of motion and peak expiratory flow (PEF) increased with statistical significance. In contrast, the thoracic group revealed significant changes in the forced expiratory volume in 1 sec (FEV1) and PEF, confirming the influence of manipulation treatment on the range of motion and respiratory volume. It is anticipated that there would be further studies on combination manipulation treatments.
