간호대학생의 인문 고전 읽기 수업의 효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 간호대학생을 대상으로 인문 고전 읽기 수업이 학습자의 이타심, 공감능력, 자기효능감, 전공만족도에 나타나는 효과를 파악하기 위한 것이다. 방법 이를 위해 부산의 B대학교 간호대학생 중 ‘문학과 예술’을 수강한 143명을 대상으로 인문 고전 읽기 수업 전후의 이타심, 공감능력, 자기효능감, 전공만족도의 차이를 파악하였다. 단일 집단 사전, 사후 검증을 위해 SPSS WIN 26.0을 이용해 수집된 자료를 분석하였고 연구대상자의 기본적 특성은 빈도 및 백분율, 수업 효과에 대한 검증은 paired t-test로 분석하였다. 결과 인문 고전 읽기 수업을 진행한 후 이타심은 평균 3.85점에서 3.88점, 공감능력은 평균 3.74점에서 3.89점, 자기효능감은 3.20점에서 3.30점, 전공만족도는 평균 3.97점에서 4.53점으로 평균 점수가 모두 상승하였다. 이 중 공감능력(t=-2.580, p=.011), 자기효능감(t=-2.004, p=.047), 전공만족도(t=-9313, p<.001)는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 결론 이를 통해 인문 고전 읽기 수업은 간호대학생에게 필요한 이타심, 공감능력, 자기효능감뿐만 아니라 전공만족도를 향상시키는 데에 효과적인 수업인 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 간호대학생의 인문학적 역량을 증진시키는 한 예로 인문 고전 읽기 수업을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to understand the effects of a humanity classics reading class on altruism, empathic ability, self-efficacy, and major satisfaction for college nursing students. Methods To achieve the purpose of the study, 143 nursing students at B University in Busan who took the “Literature and Art” class were identified with differences in altruism, empathy, self-efficacy, and major satisfaction before and after the humanity classics reading. In order to test hypotheses, data was analyzed by using SPSS WIN 26.0. Frequency analysis and t-test were performed to identify characteristics of respondents and the effects of the class respectively. Results After taking the humanity classics reading class, the average score of altruism increased from 3.85 to 3.88, empathc ability from 3.74 to 3.89, self-efficacy from 3.20 to 3.30, and major satisfaction from 3.97 to 4.53. empathic ability, self-efficacy and major satisfaction all increased. Moreover, there were statistically significant differences in empathic ability (t=-2.580, p=.011), self-efficacy (t=-2.004, p=.047), and major satisfaction (t=-9313, p<.001). Conclusions The study shows that the humanity classics reading class is an effective class to improve major satisfaction as well as altruism, empathy, and self-efficacy, which is necessary for nursing students. In addition, it is significant in that a humanity classics reading class was presented as an example of improving the humanities capabilities of nursing students.
