국문 초록

본고에서는 『삼국유사』의 <탑상>을 이야기의 내부와 외부로 구분하고, 각각의 층위에서 불법과 불성이 인식되고 혹은 믿어지는 과정을 분석하고자 한다. 『삼국유사』 의 편목들의 개별성에 주목하는 연구가 적지 않은 것처럼 『삼국유사』 ‘안’에서 말하는 방식 역시 일관적이라고만은 할 수는 없다. 그러나 『삼국유사』가 스토리의 ‘바깥’ 에서 발화될 때 이에 어떻게 접근해야 하는지에 주목해보고자 했다. 왜냐하면 『삼국유사』는 이미 『삼국유사』 안에만 내재되어 있는 것은 아니기 때문이다. 파편화되어기억되는 과정에서 존재하고, 그 부분 집합들이 다 틀리거나, 부족하거나, 잘못된 해석이라 말하기는 어렵다. 오히려 그 총합 혹은 그 끊어 ‘잇기’가 『삼국유사』의 해석 집합을 구성하는 것이라고도 할 수 있다. 뮈토스를 중심으로 한 이야기는 아마도 행위소환을 위한 이야기라고 보아도 될 것이다. 이를 토대로 불교적인 맥락에서의 어떤 깨달음과 행위를 소환하고자 하는 의도가 있는 이야기인 셈이다. 그러한 의도가 현대의 독자들에게도 동일하게 작동하는 것인가를 묻는 과정에서 가능한 해석의 가능성을 시도해본 것이다. 보다 면밀한 후고를위한 시론이지만 <탑상>의 커뮤니케이션을 기술하는 과정에서 이러한 가능성을 타진하고자 했다.

영문 초록

This essay analyzes the cognitive structure of stories of Tapsang in the Samgukyusa and classifies the structure into the internal and external frames of the storyworld based on the communication structure. The internal frame is the communication structure in the stories, and the external one is the communication structure of the stories with the discursive spaces and the actual spaces. Tapsang comprises stories that describe the sacred spaces; accordingly, the main focus of this essay lies in the relationship of the described spaces and their description. This way of rereading seeks to demonstrate how the subject recognizes these spaces within and outside the context of the stories. Mythos in the sacred stories encourages readers to believe more than to understand the stories. Since the stories of Tapsang implies the sacredness, the recognition and practice of Mythos is significant. However, the original interpretation of Mythos may not be as relevant for modern readers. This is the reason to focus on the cognitive aspect in the analysis of Tapsang, in an effort to deconstruct the Mythos. The re-reading of the Tapsang in the Samgukyusa is carefully attempted to use this modern and unfamiliar cognitive methodology.
