보건교사의 교사학습공동체 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 학교 밖 교사학습공동체인 성교육 연구회에서 보건교사들이 어떻게 교사 간 협력을 통해 성교육 수업의 질을 높이고 수업전문성을 향상시키고 있는지 탐색하는 데에 있다. 방법 학교 밖 교사학습공동체인 보건교사 성교육 연구회에서 활동하였던 보건교사 4명을 대상으로 질적 연구를 수행하였다. 연구 자료는 2020년 11월부터 2021년 3월까지 5개월 동안 면담으로 수집하였으며 그 외에 연구회 결과보고서와 수업자료 등의 관련 문서를 수집하였다. 수집한 자료는 N-vivo를 활용하여 단계별 절차를 밟아 분석하였다. 결과 교사학습공동체를 통해 보건교사들은 성교육 수업의 방향과 수업방법의 측면에서 성교육 수업의 질을 제고하였다. 교사들은 성교육에 대한 인식을 넓혀 나감으로써 생물학적 성을 넘어선 포괄적 성교육 수업을 하게 되었으며, 다양한 학생 중심 수업방법을 연구하였는데 이는 독서토론, 푸드표현, 미술치료, 놀이 등을 활용한 성교육 수업으로 실행되었다. 또한, 교사들은 연구회에서 함께 개발한 수업자료를 기계적으로 본인의 수업에 적용하는 것이 아니라 자신의 교육철학과 교수스타일, 학생들의 특성 등 수업 맥락에 따라 수정 보완하고 있었다. 결론 교사학습공동체는 보건교사들의 성교육 수업의 방향과 수업방법을 변화시켰으며, 교사들은 성교육 연구회의 공동연구결과를 본인의 수업에서 그대로 적용하는 데에 그치지 않고 본인의 맥락에 맞게 변형시킴으로써 스스로의 수업전문성을 향상시켜나가고 있었다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to explore how heath education teachers improved their sexuality education lessons and developed teaching expertise through the teacher learning community. Methods The author interviewed four health education teachers who participated in the teacher learning community for sexuality education. The participants who were in the stage of concerns about teaching with regard to Fuller s model of teacher development based on the analysis of teachers concerns. The author also collected and analyzed the documents of the teacher learning community for sexuality education. Results The health education teachers of this study voluntarily participated in the teacher learning community: their main motives were to improve sexuality education lessons and to develop teaching expertise through teacher collaboration. In the teacher learning community, the teachers changed both lesson contents and instruction methods of their sexuality education: they developed their lessons toward inclusive sexuality education beyond only dealing with the physical aspect of sexuality; they implemented various approaches of student-centered learning rather than teacher-centered lectures with video clips: they together developed sexuality education lessons using book discussion, food therapy, art therapy, games, and so on. In addition, the teachers developed their own sexuality education lessons by modifying the lesson plans of the teacher learning community with regard to their individual teaching situations. Conclusions The teacher learning community was very effective in improving sexuality education and developing teaching expertise for health education teachers who were usually “isolated” in their schools. The teachers developed and implemented inclusive sexuality education with various approaches of student-centered learning through teacher collaboration.
