TV 드라마 대본에 나타난 한국어 ‘밥’ 관련 관용표현의 변이 유형과 특징 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 TV 드라마 대본의 말뭉치를 활용하여 담화 상황에서 나타나는 한국어‘밥’ 관용표현의 변이 유형과 그 특징을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 어휘적 변이형과 구조적 변이형 그리고 이 두 가지 형태를 모두 포함한 변이형의 기준을 설정하고 이들이 출현한 담화 상황을 제시하여 살펴보았다. ‘밥’ 관용표현 변이형들은 드라마 속 등장인물들이 처한 처지나 상황을 대체하여 사용하는 맥락으로 주로 나타났는데 한국인에게 ‘밥’은 식문화를 대표하는 상징적인 음식이자, 삶의 근간이기에 이와 같이 도출된 것이라 볼 수 있다. 한국어교육 현장에서 현재 지향하는 의사소통 중심 교수법에서는 다른 관용표현에서 찾기 어려운 ‘밥’ 관용표현만이 가진 이와 같은 특성을 반영하여 교육 내용으로 구성할 필요가 있다. 즉 ‘밥’ 관용표현 변이유형들은 실제 어떤담화 상황에서 주로 사용되었고, 어떤 사용 맥락으로 나타나는가에 대해 드라마 대본말뭉치에 나타난 ‘실제성’을 기반으로 한 핵심 정보를 제시하여 학습자의 사회언어학적 능력을 신장시키는 데 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 본 연구결과, 일상생활에서‘밥’ 관용표현의 어휘적 변이형과 구조적 변이형 모두 의사소통 기능 가운데 부정적인 상황의 담화에서 주로 상대방을 비판하거나 비난할 때 출현하고 있음을 보였는데이 점은 외국인 학습자에게 화자와 청자와의 관계를 고려하여 ‘밥’ 관용표현의 사용이 허용되는 담화 상황을 명확히 학습하도록 하는 데 객관적인 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것이다. 특히 한국인들에게 ‘밥’은 문화적, 정서적으로 중요한 의미를 가지고 있기때문에 이러한 드라마 대본 말뭉치에서의 ‘밥’ 관용표현 특성 분석 결과를 토대로 한국어 숙달도에 맞추어 교수·학습 자료를 제작하는 데 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study attempted to analyze the different idioms related to the Korean word ‘bap’ in TV dramas and examine their characteristics. In Korea, ‘bap’ is deeply related to the majority of elements that make up human life, starting with the most fundamental elements, including human emotions and values, and the situations and actions that humans face. To analyze the extent to which Koreans are exposed to the idioms for ‘bap’ that represent food culture, the types and characteristics of the idioms for ‘bap’ used in Korean discourse were analyzed using a corpus of family drama scripts. This study analyzed the Korean idioms for ‘bap’ by dividing them into lexical variations, structural variations, and both lexically and structurally transformed forms. As a result, the speaker often created variations to expand or change the original idiom’s meaning or to emphasize his or her intention further. For Koreans, ‘bap’ is a symbolic food representing food culture and the foundations of life, so it was mainly used to compare the situation of the speaker to the idioms for ‘bap’, and it was more actively used in negative situations and to express negative images. In particular, both the lexical variations and the structural variations of the idioms for ‘bap’ expressed in daily life were mainly used as criticizing functions in the context of discourse in negative situations among communication functions. Since ‘bap’ has an important cultural and emotional meaning for Koreans, it is necessary to produce educational materials based on this corpus for foreign learners according to their proficiency in Korean. In particular, if these idioms for ‘bap’ are taught in accordance with their proficiency, foreign learners can learn the values, beliefs, and emotions of Koreans through Korean expressions.
