국문 초록

연구목적 이 연구는 띄어쓰기가 읽기 능력 평가에 영향을 주는지를 검증함으로써 띄어쓰기 변인을 활용한검사 도구 개발 가능성을 살피는 데 목적이 있다. 연구방법 읽기 수준별, 구인별, 글의 종류별로 집단 간 평균 차이 검증을 실시하였으며 효과 크기를 계산하였다. 연구결과 총점 기준 분석 결과 집단 간 평균 차이는 유의했으며 효과크기는 작은 크기보다 약간 컸다. 읽기 능력 상, 하 수준 모두 평균 차이가 유의했으며 효과크기가 컸다. 사실적 이해 능력은 차이가 유의했으나 효과크기는 크지 않았다. 설명 지문의 집단 간 차이는 유의했으나 효과크기는 중간보다 작았다. 상수준은 하 수준보다 추론적 이해와 설명 지문 읽기에서 효과크기가 컸고 하 수준은 서사 지문만 집단간 차이가 유의했다. 결론 띄어쓰기는 읽기 능력 평가에 영향을 끼치며 읽기 능력 수준별, 구인별, 글의 종류별로도 차이를유발하는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the possibility of developing a test tool usingspacing variables by verifying whether spacing affects the evaluation of reading ability. Methods: The average difference between groups was verified by reading level, construct, and typeof writing, and the effect size was calculated after analyzing in detail by level. Results: As a result of the total score analysis, the mean difference between groups was significant,and the effect size was slightly larger than the small size. The mean difference was significant atboth the upper and lower levels of reading ability, and the effect size was also large. The differencein factual comprehension ability was significant, but the effect size was not large. The differencebetween groups of explanatory fingerprints was significant, but the effect size was smaller than themedian. At the upper level, the effect size was larger for inferential comprehension and explanatorytext reading than for the lower level, and for the lower level, only the narrative text showed significantdifferences between groups. Conclusion: It was found that spacing affects the evaluation of reading ability and causes differencesby reading ability level, by job description, and by text type.
