R&E 프로그램의 운영 방식에 따른 과학영재학교 졸업생들의 인식 차이 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 R&E 프로그램을 운영 방식에 따라 사사 중심 R&E 프로그램과 학생 주도 R&E 프로그램으로 구분하고 이에 따른 졸업생들의 인식 차이를 분석하고자 한다. 방법 R&E 프로그램의 인식에 대한 설문지를 개발하였다. 설문지는 총 22개 문항으로 구성되었으며, ‘R&E 프로그램 활동 시 어려운 과정’, ‘R&E 프로그램 주제 선정’, ‘R&E 프로그램에서의 역할’, ‘R&E 프로그램의 발전 방안’, ‘R&E 프로그램 활동에 따른 능력 향상 효과 인식’의 5개 영역으로 구분하였다. 수도권의 한 과학영재학교 졸업생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하였고, 회수된 152건에 대해 설문 문항을 분석하였다. 결과 졸업생들은 학생 주도 R&E 프로그램에서 더 큰 자율성을 갖고 활동에 임할 수 있었다. 그러나 학생들에게 부여된 자율성은 활동에 어려움으로 작용하기도 한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 졸업생들은 R&E 프로그램의 단계 중 연구 주제 탐색 및 선정 과정에 더 큰 어려움을 느꼈다. 졸업생들은 인지적 측면과 정의적 측면 모두 사사 중심 R&E 프로그램이 연구자로 성장하는데 긍정적으로 작용하였다고 생각하고 있었다. 결론 이 연구에서는 R&E 프로그램을 운영 방식에 따라 구분하여 졸업생들의 인식 차이를 살펴보았다. 연구 결과 상대적으로 관심이 적었던 학생 주도 R&E 프로그램에 대한 졸업생들의 인식을 구체적으로 이해할 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 연구 주제 탐색 및 선정 과정에서부터 학생들이 자율적으로 참여하면서도 효과적으로 운영될 수 있는 학생 주도 R&E 프로그램 개발에 대한 연구의 필요성을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to classify the R&E program into a scientist-led R&E program and a student-driven R&E program on the operation method and to analyze the differences in perceptions of students accordingly. Methods A questionnaire on the perception of the R&E program was developed. A questionnaire consisted of a total of 22 questions, and was divided into five areas: ‘Difficult Process for R&E program’, ‘Selection of R&E program subject’, ‘Role in R&E program’, ‘Development plan of R&E program’, and ‘Recognition of the ability Improvement effect of R&E Program’. The survey was conducted on graduates of a science gifted school in the metropolitan area. We analyzed 152 graduates participated in the survey. Results Graduates were able to engage in program with greater autonomy in student-driven R&E program. But, it was found that the autonomy granted to the students also acted as a difficulty in research activities. In particular, they felt more difficult in the process of searching and selecting research topic on the steps of the R&E program. Graduates thought that a scientist-led R&E program had a more positive effect on growing into a scientist in both cognitive and affective aspects. Conclusions In this study, R&E programs were classified on the operation method and the differences in graduates perceptions were examined. As a result of the study, it was possible to understand graduates perceptions of student-driven R&E programs in detail, which were relatively less interested. The results of this study show that there is a need for the study on the development of student-driven R&E program that is operated effectively while students participate autonomously from the process of searching and selecting research topic.
