경찰신뢰 영향요인에 대한 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 경찰신뢰 수준과 영향요인 차이를 범죄핫스팟과 범죄콜드스팟으로 나누어 비교·검증하였다. 기존 경찰신뢰 연구에서 주요변수로 사용하는 도구적 시각, 표현적 시각에서 추출한 변수를 활용하여 연구를 진행하였다. 연구를 통해 범죄핫스팟과 범죄콜드스팟의 경찰신뢰 수준을 비교한 결과 범죄핫스팟의 경찰신뢰 수준이 조금 높은 것으로 나타났으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지는 않았다. 다음으로 범죄핫스팟에서는 도구적 시각, 표현적 시각에서 추출한 변수 중 표현적 시각에서 추출한 사회적 무질서가 경찰신뢰에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 반해 범죄콜드스팟에서는 도구적 시각, 표현적 시각에서 추출한 모든 변수가 경찰신뢰에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 드러나 설명모형이 유의하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 범죄발생률이 높은 지역의 경우 표현적 시각이 경찰신뢰를 설명하는 유효한 모형이나, 범죄발생이 낮은 지역의 경우 도구적 시각과 표현적 시각 모두 경찰신뢰를 설명하기에 적합하지 않다는 것으로 해석할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study compared and verified the difference between the level of public confidence in the police and the influencing factors by dividing them into crime hotspot and crime coldspot. The study was conducted using variables extracted from instrumental and expressive perspectives used as major variables in existing police trust studies. As a result of comparing the police trust level between the crime hotspot and the crime coldspot, it was found that the police trust level of the crime hotspot was slightly higher, but there was no statistically significant difference. Next, among the variables extracted from the instrumental and expressive perspectives, social disorder extracted from the expressive perspective influenced police trust in the crime cold spot, but the explanatory model was not significant if all variables extracted from the instrumental and expressive perspectives did not affect police trust. These results can be interpreted as valid models explaining police trust in areas with high crime occurrence, while instrumental and expressive views in areas with low crime occurrence are not suitable for explaining police trust
