영문 초록

Purpose– Under the COVID situation, freight rates have soared and logistics delays occur frequently. This study compares and analyzes the economic feasibility of logistics routes to find the optimal logistics route from the cost point of view. Design/Methodology/Approach– This study compares the economic feasibility between transportation means using the inventory theoretical model. The freight rate used in the analysis was the market rate for the fourth quarter of 2021, and the average value was applied to the study through a survey of three logistics companies. Sea transportation and rail transportation were compared, and a simulation assuming a delay in sea transportation was added. Findings– Although the logistics cost of all sections increased, sea transportation was still the most economical means of transportation. However, due to the increase in overall logistics cost, the gap by transportation method has narrowed, and it was confirmed that rail transportation is more economical if sea transportation is delayed by about a week. Research Implications–Even now, there are frequent delays in shipping due to port congestion and blank sailing. In this situation, it has been confirmed that there is a logistics method that can replace maritime transportation in terms of cost and stability, and this study will provide implications for long-term economic and stable logistics operation from the perspective of the shipper.
