Recently, Korea announced the Renewable Energy 3020 Implementation Plan in response to the global energy transition with regard to climate change. This has added to the ever‑increasing shift towards renewable energy as stakeholders strive to conform to similar policies, such as the Korean version of the Green New Deal and the president s declaration of carbon neutrality by 2050. As the cost of photovoltaic technologies continues to fall in the wake of these directives and incentives, the demand for photovoltaic power units is expected to increase significantly in future. For accurate diagnosis of the penetration of a photovoltaic power plant, in the case of a module, the exact state can be determined only by measuring in the STC (standard test condition) state; the loss occasioned by changes in the installation environment must also be considered. Accordingly, we propose a novel diagnostic approach applying voltage and current compensation techniques as well as the loss resulting from the gradual degradation of solar farms.
