성악전공 대학생의 공연불안과 공연성취와의 관계에서 대처전략의 매개효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 성악전공 대학생들이 느끼는 공연불안과 공연성취 간의 관계에서 스트레스 대처전략 유형이 이들의 관계를 매개하는지를 분석하였다. 방법 연구대상은 편의표집법을 통해 수도권 소재 음악대학에서 성악을 전공하는 남녀 대학생 182명(남학생=27명, 여학생=155명)이 선정되었다. 자료는 공연불안(20문항)과 스트레스 대처전략(33문항) 및 공연성취(3문항)를 측정하는 3개의 심리검사지를 이용하여 수집되었다. 자료분석은 기술통계, 확인적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, 상관분석 및 회귀분석을 통해 처리되었다. 결과 회귀분석의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성악전공 대학생의 공연불안이 문제해결중심 대처와 부적 관계가 있지만, 사회적 지지 추구와 회피중심 대처와 관련은 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대처전략 유형 중에서 문제해결중심 대처는 공연불안과 공연성취 간의 관계를 부분적으로 매개하는 역할을 한다. 셋째, 공연불안이 세 가지 대처전략을 통해 공연성취에 미치는 특정 간접효과는 문제해결중심 대처가 다른 대처전략 유형들보다 훨씬 더 크다. 결론 이들 결과는 성악전공 대학생이 자신의 기량을 발휘하고 공연의 질을 높이기 위해서는 불안감을 유발하는 문제를 능동적으로 해결하기 위한 전략을 활용하는 것이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purposes of this study was whether the types of copying strategy mediate the relationship between college students’ performance anxiety and performance attainment among university students majoring in vocal music in trait anxiety perspective. Methods Subjects were 182 undergraduate students (27 males, 155 females) who are majoring in vocal music and responded to a set of questionnaires measuring performance anxiety, copying strategy, and performance attainment. Data were conducted using descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analysis. Results The results of regression analysis were as follows. First, Students’ performance anxiety were negatively related to problem solving strategy, but were unrelated to social support pursuit and avoidance strategy. Second, students’ problem solving strategy partially among the three types of copying strategy mediated the relationship between performance anxiety and performance attainment. Third, the specific indirect effect of problem solving strategy in the relationship between performance anxiety and performance attainment was larger compared to other copying strategies. Conclusions These findings suggest that undergraduate students majoring in vocal music need to use problem solving strategy in order to demonstrate one’s ability when they feel anxiety.
