국문 초록

본 연구는 교사 전문성 개발 평가를 위한 대안으로서 이론적, 실증적 연구들에 의해 검토된 Desimone 모형의 시사점 및 한계를 탐구하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해, 첫째, 교사 전문성 개발 평가에 대한 전통적인 접근법의 한계를 지적하고, Desimone의 이론적 모형의 특징을 기술하였다. 둘째, 최근 5년간 국내에서 효과적인 교사 전문성 개발이라고 검토된 실증적 연구들을 선정하여 각 연구들이 Desimone의 이론적 모형에 의해 어느 정도 설명될 수 있는지를 분석하였다. 마지막으로, Desimone의 모형이 국내의 교사 전문성 개발 평가에 주는 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore applicability of Desimone’s framework to Korea as an alternative to traditional approach for evaluating teacher professional development. In order to accomplish the purpose, first, we discussed the limitations of traditional approach for evaluating teacher professional development. Then, we explained Desimone’s framework. Specifically, we investigated both how Desimone defined five characteristics of successful professional development and how they were supported by empirical research. In addition, we synthesized theoretical frameworks suggested by research related to evaluation of teacher professional development and how empirical studies support them. Second, selecting 15 empirical studies which investigated teacher professional development impact in Korea, we analyzed applicability of Desimone’s framework to Korea. Finally, we provided implications of Desimone’s framework to teacher professional development evaluation in Korea.
