국문 초록

본 연구는 고대 동양의 노장사상을 통한 예술정신을 살펴보고, 기존 미술교육학의 한계를 드러냄과 동시에 노장의 예술정신이 기존 미술교육의 한계를 극복할 수 있는 대안으로서의 가능성이라는 측면에서 현대 미술교육에 주는 시사점을 탐구하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 노장 예술정신의 근원이 되는 道의 본질과 노자의 무위자연(無爲自然), 장자의 소요유(逍遙遊) 예술정신을 탐구한 바, 기존의 미술교육학의 한계를 극복할 수 있는 정신성으로서 작용할 수 있는 시사점을 발견하였는데 첫째, 심재(心齋)와 좌망(坐忘)의 미적체험으로 자유를 획득할 수 있으며 둘째, 무위자연(無爲自然)적 태도를 통해 어린이의 정신성을 회복할 수 있으며 셋째, 삶이 곧 道가 되는 미술교육으로 어린이들이 ‘나’를 발견하고 삶을 창조적으로 만들어 갈 수 있다는 것이다. 이러한 노장 예술정신은 현대 미술교육에서 간과한 미술의 내재적 가치를 드러냄으로서 어린이들이 정신성을 회복하여 마음의 자유와 창조적 삶을 만들 수 있게 한다는 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to review the art spirit through Lao-Chuang s ancient oriental philosophy and reveal the limitations of existing art education as well as to research Lao- Chuang s art sprit in terms of a possibility as an alternative to overcome the limitations of the existing art education and its implications for contemporary art education. By looking at the essence of Tao, a foundation of Lao-Chuang s art sprit, Lao s inactive nature, and Chuang s aesthetic contemplation of a ramble, this study found implications which can function as spirituality to overcome the limitations of existing art education. First, children can obtain freedom through the aesthetic experience of mind control and forgetting. Second, children s spirituality can be recovered through the attitude of inactive nature. Third, children can find me and make their lives creative through art education that has the philosophy to turn life into Tao. As these Lao-Chuang s art spirit reveals the intrinsic value of art, which was overlooked in contemporary art education, it enables the children to recover their spirituality to obtain the freedom of the mind and make their own lives creative.
