대학생의 전공에 따른 학교생활 만족도, 자아존중감, 진로성숙도의 구조적 관계

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 대학생의 진로성숙도에 학교생활 만족도가 미치는 영향을 파악하고 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였으며, 전공계열별 다중집단을 분석하여 비교하였다. 방법 이를 위해 한국고용정보원에서 제공하는 청년패널조사(Youth Panel)의 13차 표본자료를 활용하였고, 그 중에서 대학교에 재학중인 1,078명의 코호트자료를 사용하여 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였다. 또한, 대학 전공계열별로 인문계열 429명, 이공계열 500명, 의학계열 149명을 그룹별로 나누어 구조적 관계를 비교하였다. 결과 첫째, 대학생의 학교생활 만족도는 자아존중감에 긍정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 반면에 진로성숙도에는 유의한 직접효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대학생의 자아존중감은 진로성숙도에 긍정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 이공계열, 인문계열 대학생의 학교생활 만족도가 진로성숙도에 미치는 긍정적인 효과는 자아존중감을 매개로 유의한 영향이 나타났으나, 의학계열 대학생의 경우 유의한 매개효과가 나타나지 않았다. 결론 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 대학생의 진로성숙도 증진을 위해서 학교생활 만족도와 자아존중감 요인의 중요성을 인식하고, 전공계열에 따라 진로성숙도 증진을 위한 맞춤형 진로교육과 만족스러운 학교생활을 위한 다양한 지원체계 구축이 필요함을 시사하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship among school life satisfaction, self-esteem and creer maturity according to the major of college students. Methods To do this, structural equation modeling was applied to the 13th data (college students, N=1,078) of Youth Panel in Korea Employment Information Service(KEIS). They were 429 students in humanities & social science, 500 students in science & engineering, and 149 students in medical field. Results The results are as following. First, school life satisfaction had a positive effect on self-esteem, while it did not have a significant direct effect on career maturity. Second, the effect of school life satisfaction on career maturity is further strengthened by self-esteem as a mediator. Third, the positive effect of school life satisfaction on career maturity was significant by self-respect as a mediator for college students in humanities & social science and science & engineering field, but there was no significant mediated effect for medical college students. Conclusions Based on these results, it is necessary to recognize the importance of school life satisfaction and self-esteem factors to promote career maturity and provide customized career education programs for various major field for college students.
