현대미술 감상과 표현의 통합 수업에 관한 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 미술에 대한 학생들의 고정된 인식과 그에 따른 미적 활동에 변화를 도모하기 위한 필요성이 확인되면서 시도되었다. 방법 연구 참여자는 서울시 관악구에 거주하고 있는 초등학교 6학년 학생 10명이었으며, 연구자가 개발한 수업 프로그램을 이용하여 실행연구를 실시하였다. 질적 분석을 위하여 학생의 수업활동 자료 및 수업대화 녹음 자료 등을 수집하였다. 결과 수업 프로그램의 실행 결과, 첫째, 학생들은 현대 미술작품 감상을 통하여 미술은 재현이라는 고정관념에서 벗어날 수 있었다. 둘째, 학생들은 자신의 생각과 느낌에 따라 대상을 변형한 작품을 제작함으로써 인식의 변화를 결과물로 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 표현 활동은 현대 미술작품 감상 활동과 관계를 맺음으로써 기존의 관점과 다른 방향으로 의미가 생성되었다. 결론 이러한 연구 결과는 미술교사들이 현대 미술작품을 교육현장에서 활용할 수 있는 구체적인 수업 프로그램과 그에 따른 실제적 지식을 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to change the stereotypes students hold about art and art activities. Methods The participants included 10 sixth-graders attending elementary school in Gwanak-gu, Seoul. An action study was conducted using an art class program developed by the researcher. Class activities and recorded conversations between the researcher and the students were collected for qualitative analysis. Results The results of the art class program were as follows. First, the students broke away from the stereotype that art is representation through appreciation of contemporary artworks. Second, the students confirmed the changes in their awareness by making artworks that transformed the object according to their thoughts and feelings. Third, the students created meaning that deviated from the conventional perspectives by engaging in expression activities that related to contemporary artwork appreciation activities. Conclusions This study is significant because it provides a specific art class program and practical knowledge to help art teachers utilize contemporary artworks at education sites.
