국문 초록

지식정보시대 또는 디지털 시대로 불리는 21세기를 맞이하여, 이미 오래전부터 사회, 문화 분야에서 여러 연구나 문헌을 통해 강조되어오는 패러다임 전환이 실지로 교육에서도 일어나고 있으며, 그러한 변혁의 핵심에 정보통신기술이 존재하고 있다. 또한 이미 교육 분야에서는 IT기반 학습이라는 이름하에 활발한 연구와 적용이 있어왔다. 그러나 교회교육 분야에서는 IT기반 학습에 대한 관심이 상대적으로 부족한 상황이라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 21세기 넷 세대 학습자들과의 소통을 통한 교회교육의 활성화를 위해서 IT기반 교육환경의 적극적 도입이 필요하다. 다만 이때 전제되어야 하는 점은 IT기반 학습의 초점은 IT가 아니라 ‘학습’에 있어야 한다는 점일 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 맥락에서 현시대에 급부상하고 있는 소셜 소프트웨어(social software)의 한 종류인 블로그(Blog)를 활용한 교회교육 프로그램을 개발, 적용해 보았다. 적용대상은 서울특별시 강북구 수유동에 위치한 대한예수교 장로회 S교회 초등학교 5, 6학년 학생 중 제자훈련을 받고 있는 20명의 학생이었으며, 기간은 2007년 9월부터 10월까지 8주간 이루어졌다. 결과 분석을 위해 면담과 성찰저널, 블로그 활용 내용분석 등의 자료를 활용하였다. 적용 결과로서 블로그 활용 교육은 학습자들 사이에서 자기표현 및 상호작용을 통한 관계형성의 공간으로 적극 활용되고 있었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구결과를 기반으로 할 때, 블로그 기반 학습 환경은 ‘주일학교’에 국한되어있는 교회교육의 문제점을 ‘평생학습’으로서의 교회교육으로 확장시킬 수 있는 가능성을 제공한다고 보았다.

영문 초록

As the digital technology in the 21st century requires new educational approaches or environments, IT mediated learning in school has been actively practiced and researched. The church education, however, has been relatively lagged behind in utilizing IT based education. In order to communicate with the Net generation learner, and hence, expand the role and importance of the church education in this society, it is quite imperative to adopt IT mediated church education. In this context this case study has been conducted to apply a blog-based church education to twenty 5th and 6th graders in the S church during Sep. to Oct. 2007. Blog as a representative service of social software represents and manifests the main features of web 2.0, which usually comes down to participation and sharing, networked individuality. The case study, according to data collected from interviews, reflective journals, and blog posts from both the students and the teachers, showed how actively the blog-based learning can facilitate the desires of self-disclosure, self-identity of the learners within multi-layered and multi-directed interaction among the participants as an emotionally connected learning community. This results of the case study, in conclusion, imply the meaningful possibility that the blog-based church education can shift the traditional concept of the church education as ‘Sunday School’ limited in space (church) and time(Sunday), into the new concept as ‘life-long learning’ happening anytime, anyplace continuously to the learners.
