고등학생의 독서 의식 탐구를 통한 독서 교육 사례 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 학생들이 성장하여 스스로 독서하여 ‘생활에 필요한 기능적 문식성(functional literacy)을 익히고, 직업과 학업에 필요한 학문 문식성(disciplinary literacy)을 향상’시키기 위하여 ‘학생들의 자발적이고 긍정적인 독서 태도가 중요하다’는 발상에서 출발하였다. 학생들이 자발적으로 독서 활동에 참여해 성인이 되어서도 독서 활동이 삶의 일부가 되어 정서적 성숙을 도모하고, 인지적 풍요를 향유할수 있는 평생 독자로 안내하는 길을 모색해 보는 것이 본 연구의 목표라 하겠다. 연구 방법은 연구자가 가르치고 있는 인문계고등학교 1학년 4개 학급을 대상으로 국어수업에서 교과서의 읽기 단원을 비대면 수업으로 직접 가르친 후 학생들에게 질문지를 통한 설문 조사를 하는 질적 방법(qualitative content analysis)으로 사례 연구(case study)를 해보았다. 인간의 도덕성(morality)이나 ‘인성 요소’가 희박해져 가는 세태속에서 학생들에게 ‘학문 문식성’을 성장시키기 위해 ‘학생들의 실제 삶을 고려’하고, ‘공감적 독서 교육’, ‘학생들의 긍정적 독서 태도’, ‘학생과 교사와 관계 발전’이 필요하다는 것을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study started with the idea that “students’ voluntary and positive reading attitudes are important” for them to grow up and read on their own to “learn the functional literacy necessary for life and improve disciplinary literacy required for occupation and study.” This study aims to guide students to voluntarily participate in reading activities and develop emotional maturity and to enjoy cognitive affluence throughout their lives. The research method was a case study in which four first-year humanities high school classes the author teaches were taught in the Korean language directly through non-face-to-face classes. The students were then questioned through questionnaires. It suggested that “considering students’ real lives,” “empathetic reading education,” “students’ positive reading attitude,” and “developing relationships with students” are needed to grow “disciplinary literacy” in a world where human morality or “personality” is becoming scarce.
