유아교사의 영유아권리존중 실천 경험

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 유아교사가 영유아 권리존중 실천과정에서 경험하는 다양한 정서에 대해 살펴보고 교사의 정서적 경험의 의미와 기능에 대한 탐색을 통해 교사의 권리실천 과정에 대한 이해를 높이고자 하였다. 방법 6명의 유아교사를 대상으로 반구조화 심층 면담을 실시하였으며 수집된 자료는 코딩을 통해 질적 분석이 이루어졌다. 결과 첫째. 교사들은 영유아 권리실천과정에서 혼란, 후회와 미안함, 무력감, 답답함, 실망감 등과 같은 정서적 어려움을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교사들은 영유아 권리존중 실천을 통해 신뢰감과 유대감, 만족감, 용기, 책임감 등의 긍정적인 정서를 경험하였다. 셋째, 교사가 경험한 정서를 통해 교사의 반성적 성찰, 권리 실천자로서의 역할 재인식과 동기화, 영유아 권리존중실천을 위한 공유와 동화가 이루어질 수 있었다. 결론 본 연구는 영유아 권리존중 실천과정에서 교사의 정서적 경험의 의미를 찾고 권리존중 실천의 개선 방향을 모색하였다는 점에서 연구적 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to enhance the understanding of early childhood teachers’ practice on respecting children s rights through examining the various emotions experienced in teachers’ practices respecting children’s rights and illuminating the meaning and function of their emotional experiences. Methods To this end, semi-structured interviews with 6 early childhood teachers and coding analysis on the collected data were conducted. Results First. the teachers experienced emotional difficulties such as confusion, regret, sorriness, helplessness, frustration, and disappointment in their practice on respecting children’s rights. And also, the teachers experienced positive emotions including trust, satisfaction, courage, and responsibility. Lastly, through the emotions experienced by the teachers, reflective practice, new understanding and motivation of the role as a children’s rights practitioner, and sharing and assimilation for practice on respecting the rights of children emerged. Conclusions The study could be significant in that the meaning of the emotional experiences of the early childhood teachers’ in respecting the rights of young children was found, and the direction of improvement for teachers’ practice on respecting the children’s rights was sought.
