국문 초록

연구목적: 현재 장애인에 대한 평생교육 지원의 행･재정적 제도에서 중도･중복장애인은 사각지대로 별도로 고려되지 못하는 힘든 상황이므로, 그들이 느끼는 요구에 대해 좀 더 심층적으로 집중해서 살펴보고, 중도･중복장애인 평생교육 관련 전문가의 의견을 수렴하여 현재의 인식과 앞으로 필요한 요구와 기대에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 연구방법: 초점 집단 인터뷰(Focus Group Interview, FGI)를 통해 중도･중복장애인 당사자(가족)과 관련 전문가의 의견을 수집 및 분석하였다. 연구결과: 중도·중복장애인 당사자(가족) 민 전문가 인터뷰를 통해 도출된 평생교육에 대한 인식 및 기대와 요구에 대한 결과는 크게 인식 및 기대와 요구의 대분류를 기준으로 인식에 대해서는 2개의 중분류, 5개의 소분류로, 기대와 요구는 4개의 중분류 및 11개의 소분류로 분류되었다. 결론: 중도･중복장애인의 평생교육은 보편성에 근거하여 지속적으로 평등하게 보장되어야 하지만, 동시에 특수성을 고려하여 시민으로서 사회적 참여의 증진 기회로 삼을 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램과 행·재정적 체제를 갖추어 가야 한다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 향후 중도･중복장애인의 평생교육이 지녀야 할 방향과 가치에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to investigate the current perceptions of comprehensive needs and expectations of lifelong education for people with severe and multiple disabilities recognized by parents of lifelong learners with severe and multiple disabilities and field experts who perform lifelong education for them. Method: Two focus group interviews were conducted and analyzed. Results: The results of the awareness, needs, and expectations for life-long education derived from the interviews were largely classified into two subcategories and five sub categories. Expectations and needs were classified into four subcategories and 11 sub-categories. Conclusion: Lifelong education for people with severe and multiple disabilities should be consistently and equally guaranteed in general, but at the same time, a variety of programs and administrative systems should be in place so that it can be an opportunity to promote social participation as one of the citizen in consideration of distinctiveness. Based on the findings of the study, suggestions for future research and implications were discussed.
