국문 초록

이 연구는 전국의 특수학교 홈페이지의 웹 접근성 실태를 평가하여, 특수학교 웹 사이트의 기능적인 요소들에 있어 구체적인 접근성의 문제점을 고찰하고, 이를 토대로 개선방안을 탐색하고자 한 연구이다. 웹 접근성 평가도구로는 FAE (Functional Accessibility Evaluator)를 사용하였다. 특수학교 홈페이지의 기능적 접근성을 평가한 결과, 웹 사이트의 정보간의 이동을 위한 ‘네비게이션(Navigation)’ 기능과 이미지 정보에 대한 ‘대체 텍스트(Alternative Text)’ 제공에 있어 통과율이 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 특수학교 홈페이지의 웹 접근성을 개선하기 위해서는 연수 및 정보제공을 통해 학교의 관리자와 웹 사이트 운영자의 웹 접근성에 대한 인식을 개선하여야 하고, 학교 자체적인 정책의 수립과 이를 지원하기 위한 예산지원 및 정책연구 수행의 필요성을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study evaluated and analyse the web accessibility of special schools in Korea using The Functional Accessibility Evaluator(FAE) which were developed and have been used for evaluation of compliance with the requirements of the WCAG 1.0 of WAI. The study provided suggestions for policy and strategy for improvement of web accessibility for special school s web services systems by analyzing accessibility conditions of functional components of the web sites. The results of the evaluation and analysis of special schools web sites in the five categories by FAE show that there were many Warns and Falls for ‘Navigation’and ‘Text equivalents’. This study shows that there is an immediate need of improvement for special schools web accessibility as well as improvements in the awareness of administrators and web service providers for the school. The implication of this study also suggest further research and policy to improve web accessibilities for school web site.
