인물의 변신과 정체성 문제를 중심으로 한 아동문학교육 연구

국문 초록

목적 이 논문은 아동문학에 나타난 변신 모티프에 대해 정체성을 중심으로 살펴보고, 인물의 변신과 정체성 문제를 통한 동화 읽기 교육을 모색한다. 방법 연구 대상으로 정체성을 탐색하기에 적합한 동화를 선택하였으며 그 중에서도 인물 변신 모티프에 주목하였다. 동화는 아동의 성장과정에서 일어나는 정체성 문제를 세밀하게 다루고 있으며, 그것을 드러내는 장치로 변신을 효과적으로 활용한다는 점에서 교육제재로 적합하다. 연구방법은 Marcia의 정체성 이론을 토대로 했으며, 정체성 상태의 네 가지 분류인 성취, 유예, 상실, 혼미를 기준으로 각 작품의 인물 변신에서 드러나는 정체성을 파악하였다. 결과 송미경의 ｢귀여웠던 로라는｣, ｢나를 데리러 온 고양이 부부｣, ｢어른 동생｣을 대상으로 인물의 변신 양상 및 정체성 단계를 분석한 결과 ‘변신의 확장을 통한 정체성 ‘상실’의 탈출’, ‘변신 주도와 정체성 ‘성취’로의 노력’, ‘연기(演技, acting)된 변신으로 드러나는 정체성 ‘유예’’를 확인하였다. 결론 이를 바탕으로 한 동화 읽기의 방향으로는 ‘정체성 인식의 필요성 자각: 변신하는 인물의 심리에 주목하여 읽기’와 ‘정체성 ‘성취’의 조건 확인: 능동적 변신에 영향을 끼친 요소를 파악하며 읽기’, 그리고 ‘다중 정체성의 이해: 변신을 지향하는 인간의 본성을 이해하며 읽기’를 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the transformational motifs in children s literature focusing on identity and to seek educational contents of reading fairy tales through the transformation of characters and identity issues. Methods Fairy tales suitable for exploring identity were selected as the research subject, and among them, character transformation motifs were focused on. Fairy tales are suitable as educational materials in that they deal with the identity issues that occur in the process of children s growth in detail and effectively use transformation as a device to reveal them. The research methods were based on Marcia s identity theory, and the identity revealed in the character transformation of each work was identified based on the four classifications of identity status: achievement, moratorium, foreclosure, and diffusion. Results As a result of analyzing the transformation patterns and identity stages of characters in Song Mikyung s ｢Cute Laura｣, ｢The Cat Couple Who Came to Pick Me Up｣, and ｢Adult Brother｣, ‘Escape from ‘foreclosure’ of identity through the expansion of transformation’, ‘Leading transformation and efforts to ‘achievement’’ and ‘Identity ‘moratorium’ revealed through the pretending transformation’ were confirmed. Conclusions Based on this, the direction of reading fairy tales is ‘awareness of the necessity of identity recognition: reading with attention to the psychology of the character who is transforming’, ‘confirming the condition of identity ‘achievement’: reading with considering the factors that influenced active transformation’, and ‘Understanding multiple identities: reading with understanding the nature of human beings toward transformation’ was proposed.
