국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 통상 수업이 아니라고 여기는 학생들의 일상 속 사건이 수업으로까지 연속하는 현상을 탐구하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 실제로 초등학교 4학년 한 교실에서 일어난 사건, 민교사의 학생들이 반 대항 발야구 시합에서 연속해서 패배한 사건을 기술하고, 이를 van Manen이 해석하는 교수학(pedagogy)으로 분석하였다. 결과 연구 결과, 세 가지 점에서 ‘발야구 연패 사건’을 ‘수업’으로 볼 수 있음을 해석할 수 있었다. 첫째, 상황과 교육적 상황 측면이다. 민교사는 ‘발야구 연패 사건’이라는 일상적인 상황을 교육적인 상황으로 만들었다. 둘째, 가르침의 측면이다. 민교사는 ‘발야구 연패 사건’이라는 이 상황에서 협력을 가르쳤다. 셋째, 배움 측면이다. 이 상황에서 학생들은 민교사가 의도한 ‘협력’을 배웠다. 결론 본 연구를 통하여 두 가지 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 사건이 수업인지 아닌지에 대해서 일상적인 상황이 ‘교육적 상황-즉 가르침-배움이 있는 상황’으로 바뀌었는지를 해석할 수 있을 때 판단할 수 있다. 둘째, 일상적인 상황을 교육적인 상황으로 전환하는 데에는 교사가 상황에 개입하는 교육적인 생각과 교육 행위가 중요하다는 점을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study explored the phenomenon in which daily events of students, which are not usually considered classes, are connected to classes. Methods This study described an actual event in a classroom in the forth grade of elementary school, in which students lost consecutive kickball games. This study then analyzed this event as the pedagogy of van Manen. Results As a result, it was possible to find that the “kickball losing streak” event can be seen as a class in three ways. First, the teacher made the daily situation of “kickball losing streak” into an pedagogical situation. Second, the teacher taught cooperation in this situation. Third, students learned the cooperation that teacher intended in this situation. Conclusions Two conclusions were drawn through this study. First, it is possible to know whether the daily event is a class or not through ‘situation’, ‘teaching’ and ‘learning’. Second, the thoughts and actions that teachers intervene in the situation are important for the continuation of daily situations into educational situations.
