유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 훈육방식에 관한 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 양육하는 어머니의 훈육방식에 영향을 미치는 변인을 알아보고 원가족에서의 훈육방식이 어떤 방식으로 전이되어 어머니의 훈육에 영향을 미치는지 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 방법 이를 위하여 유아기 자녀를 양육하는 어머니 22명을 대상으로 포커스그룹 인터뷰를 실시하였고 수집된 자료를 지속적 비교방법을 사용하여 의미함축과 범주화의 과정을 진행하였다. 결과 그 결과, 어머니들의 상태, 자녀의 기질, 배우자, 경제적 상황이 어머니들의 자녀 훈육방식에 영향을 미치는 변인으로 나타났으며 어머니들은 원가족에서의 훈육경험을 재구성하여 좋았던 경험은 그대로 사용하고 부정적인 경험은 자녀들에게 사용하지 않으려는 노력을 하였다. 그러나 어머니들의 노력에도 불구하고 원가족에서의 경험으로부터 자유로울 수 없음이 확인되었다. 결론 이러한 결과는 유아기 자녀를 양육하는 어머니들에게 실제적인 지원이 무엇인가에 대한 해답을 제시하며 원가족에서의 훈육이 긍정적인 방식으로 전이되도록 하기 위하여 전이과정에서의 어머니 정서 돌아보기와 훈육방식의 교육 필요성을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The aim of this study is to investigate the variables that affect the discipline of mothers with young children and to find out how the discipline method in the original family is transferred to affect the discipline of mothers and what efforts are made to discipline their children properly. Methods The subjects of this study were 22 mothers who raised children aged 3 to 5 years. Data were collected in 2019 and 2020 using focus group interview. The colledted data were transcribed and analyzed through the process of demantic analysis and categorization. Results The mother’s condition, child’s temperament, spouse, and economic situauion were the variables that affected the mothers’ discipline style. The mothers tried to use the good experience and not to use the negative experience for their children by reconstructing the discipline experience in the original family. However, despite the efforts of mothers, it was confirmed that they could not be completely free from their experiences in the family of origin. Conclusions The results suggest that practical ways to help the mothers appropriate discipline method for their young children.
