This study investigated positive factors, neutral factors and negative factors of SNS of the individuals who were exposed to remarkably growing SNS environment voluntarily and/or compulsorily, and found out conditions that could make use of SNS positively and help develop. In addition, the study investigated effects of self-esteem and thought suppression to get various kinds of implications, too.
219 copies of effective questionnaires were used.
As a result of the study, there are at least four important managerial or theoretical implications from this study: First, at analysis upon paths of the models, entertainment of positive factor of SNS was found to have influence upon satisfaction by self-esteem. In addition, the entertainment of SNS had influence upon users in both ways. Second, the results of regression suggested that SNS users who cognized negative factors of SNS avoided and suppressed negative experience by thought suppression, and exposure and/or information overload gave burden to SNS users. Therefore, SNS providers shall give positive interactivity, entertainment and consideration to personal information and filtering of information to supply reliable and valuable information and to make use of SNS in affirmative way. Lastly, self-esteem had positive influence upon satisfaction, and thought suppression did upon using reluctant intention, and self-esteem partially mediated between affirmative characteristics and satisfactions of SNS. So, SNS users should elevate self-esteem by affirmative factors to promote self-esteem and to lessen self-esteem by thought suppression at inconvenience and to decrease direct use.
General limitations of empirical analysis have not been described herein.
