영문 초록

This study analyzes the effects of diverse local factors on the location of social enterprises by applying the negative-binomial Poisson regression and the generalized Poisson regression methodology. After explicating the characteristics of social enterprise and summarizing literature trends, this study tries to model the effects of 16 explanatory variables on the number of social enterprises within each of the total 229 local governments. By applying the PROC GENMOD and “PROC NLMIXED” procedures in SAS/STAT program, this paper calculates and reports the estimates and the standard errors of the explanatory variables. Somewhat corresponding or contradicting evidences could be provided for or against the findings of previous research. Most of all, the cooperative relationship between the local government head and the majority party in the local assembly represented by the sameness of their party affiliations turns out to be one of the most important factors that could attract the social enterprises. Indeed, a set of policy implications as well as some academic suggestions could be drawn from the results.
