고등학생의 성장신념, 부모양육태도, 자아존중감의 관계에서 그릿의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 고등학생의 성장신념과 지각된 부모양육태도, 그릿이 그들의 자아존중감에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 주된 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2020년 6월 3일부터 6월 12일까지 서울시 소재의 고등학교에 재학 중인 419명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 수집된 자료는 Mplus 8.2와 SPSS 25.0 프로그램을 사용하여 사전기초분석 및 구조방정식 모형 방법을 통하여 검증되었다. 측정모형은 모형수정을 통하여 양호한 수준의 적합도를 보였으며, 이를 바탕으로 한 구조방정 모형은 좋은 수준의 적합도를 가짐을 확인하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 성장신념, 부모양육태도, 그릿, 자아존중감 간에는 통계적으로 유의한 정적 상관이 있었다. 둘째, 성장신념과 지각된 부모양육태도, 그릿은 모두 참가자의 자아존중감에 긍정적인 영향을 끼쳤다. 셋째, 그릿은 지각된 부모양육태도와 성장신념이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향을 부분매개함이 확인되었다. 고등학생의 자아존중감을 증진시키기 위하여 부모와의 관계뿐만 아니라 개인의 성장신념과 그릿이 중요하게 작용함을 알 수 있었으며, 이를 바탕으로 본 연구가 가질 수 있는 이론적 및 실천적 시사점이 논의되었다.

영문 초록

This research is designed to investigate structural relations among high school students’ growth mindset, grit, perceived parental attitudes and self-esteem. To do so, 419 high school students (184 males) in Seoul were participated for this study, and their growth mindset, perceived parental attitudes, grit, and self-esteem were collected through on-line questionnaire. In order to perform preliminary analyses and structural equation modelings, students’ responses were analyzed through Mplus 8.2 and SPSS 25.0 Measurement model had acceptable fit with a couple of minor modifications and its structural model had good fit indices. First of all, as the result, it was confirmed that participants’ growth mindset, perceived parental attitudes, grit, and self-esteem had significant positive correlations. Second, direct effects on students’ self-esteem of growth mindset, perceived parental attitudes, and grit were significant. Third, grit could partially mediate the relations between both perceived parental attitudes-self-esteem and growth mindset-self-esteem. The results of this study revealed that not only relations with parents but also high school students’ growth mindset and grit could enhance their self-esteem. Theoretical and practical implications for high school students’ self-esteem were discussed.
