학업무기력이 스마트폰 의존도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 학업무기력과 스마트폰 의존도의 관계에서 사회적 위축과 우울의 매개효과를 검증하고, 부정적 양육행동이 직접효과 및 간접효과를 유의미하게 조절하는지를 탐색하는데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 한국청소년정책연구원의 한국아동·청소년패널조사 2018 중1 코호트 2,541명의 자료를 수집하였다. 이후 SPSS 23.0, PROCESS macro v3.5를 활용하여 측정도구의 신뢰도와 변인들의 기술통계 및 상관계수를 산출한 후, Muller, Judd와 Yzerbyt(2005)의 통합모형 및 단계적 접근법에 따라 조절모형을 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학업무기력과 스마트폰 의존도의 관계에서 부모의 부정적 양육행동의 조절효과가 유의미하지 않았다. 둘째, 학업무기력과 스마트폰 의존도의 관계에서 사회적 위축과 우울의 매개효과가 유의미하였다. 셋째, 학업무기력과 스마트폰 의존도의 관계에서 사회적 위축과 우울의 매개경로에 대한 부정적 양육행동의 조절된 매개효과는 사회적 위축의 경로에서는 유의미하였으나 우울의 경로에서는 유의미하지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 연구결과에 대해 논의하고 그 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effects of social-withdrawal and depression in the relationship between adolescents academic helplessness and dependence of smartphone, and to explore whether negative parenting behaviors significantly moderated direct and indirect effects. To this end, the data of 2,541 first grade middle school cohorts from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 by the Korea Youth Policy Institute were collected. After that, using SPSS 23.0 and PROCESS macro v3.5, the reliability of the measurement tool and descriptive statistics and correlation coefficients of variables were calculated, and then the moderation model was analyzed according to the integrated model and step-by-step approach of Muller, Judd, and Yzerbyt (2005). The analysis results are as follows. First, the moderating effect of parents negative parenting behavior was not significant in the relationship between academic helplessness and dependence of smartphone. Second, social-withdrawal and depression had significant mediating effects in the relationship between academic helplessness and dependence of smartphone. Third, the moderated mediation effect of negative parenting behavior on the mediating path of social-withdrawal and depression in the relationship between academic helplessness and dependence of smartphone was significant in the path of social-withdrawal, but not in the path of depression. In this study, these findings were discussed and their implications were presented.
