국문 초록

우리 사회에서 인성의 중요성과 인성교육의 필요성에 대해서는 공감대를 형성하고 있는 반면에, 인성이 무엇인지에 대한 인식과 그 용례에 있어서의 차이는 인성교육의 방향 탐색에 관한 한 ‘규범적 관점’과 ‘심리적 관점’에 해당하는 이견을 발생시킨다. 특히, 학교교육에서 이러한 이견이 현존하고 있다는 사실은 다문화 사회에서 인성교육의 현주소를 논의의 거점으로 하여 인성의 개념적 성격과 인성교육의 활동적 성격을 어떻게 파악하고 방법적 원리를 모색해야 하는가에 관한 중요한 이론적 탐색을 요청한다. 본 연구에서는 다문화 사회에서의 초등 인성교육 방안을 탐색하기 위하여 인성과 인성교육에 관한 규범적 관점과 심리적 관점을 고찰하고, 인성 함양을 위한 ‘방법적 원리’를 교사의 역할과 자세에 초점을 두어 밝히고 있다. 다문화 사회에 살고 있는 지금 우리에게 필요한 초등학교의 인성교육은 무엇보다도 인성 함양의 본질적 특징을 아우를 수 있는 방법적 원리-보편성, 지향성, 형상화, 연계성의 원리-에 대한 수용과 그에 입각하여 인성 활동을 구현하는 일이다.

영문 초록

While there is a consensus on the importance of character and the necessity of character education in our society, differences in perception and usage of character generate disagreements in search of the perspectives and the directions for character education. In particular, the fact that this difference exists in school education calls for theoretical explorations of characteristics of character and its methodological principles by taking the current status of character education in multicultural society as a base for discussion. In this study, in order to explore an approach to the primary level character education in multicultural society, normative perspective and psychological perspective on character and its education, and methodological principles for cultivating character by focusing on the role and attitude of teachers, are examined. School education, which is necessary for us now living in multicultural society, is the acceptance of methodological principles that can encompass the essential characteristics of cultivating character, such as the principles of universality, orientation, figuration, connectivity, and the activities that can apply them.
