국문 초록

초등교사의 제스처는 학생들과 의사소통하는 과정에서 매우 중요하고 의미 있는 행동임에도 불구하고 인간의 행동이라는 다양하고 복잡한 특성 때문에 체계적인 분석을 하기 어렵다. 특히 다양한 시각적 매체의 시각 문화 환경에서 자라난 아이들에게 교사의 제스처는 시각적 매체의 하나로서 중요한 의사소통 행동으로 교육적으로 의미가 있다. 그러나 교사의 제스처에 대한 연구는 비언어적 의사소통 연구 차원에서 꾸준히 진행은 되어 왔지만, 제스처를 분석한 연구는 드물며, 이를 분석하고 설명해 줄 수 있는 이론적 근거들도 부족하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 수사학이 의사소통 이론으로서 교사의 제스처를 분석하는데 교육적으로 의미가 있고 유용한 시사점을 줄 것이라고 보고 이를 고찰해 보는 데 목적이 있다. 선행연구들과 문헌 고찰을 한 결과, 고대나 현대 수사학에서 수사학적 성공에서 가장 중요한 요소는 연사에 있었다. 본 연구에서는 수사학의 연사를 교사로 보았고, 교사의 행동은 학생들에게 설득에 기여할 수 있도록 의도적이고 사회적 역할에 맞는 그들의 중요한 규범이었다. 또한 교사 자신이 의사소통에서 결정적인 요인이었다는 것을 인식하는 것이 중요하다는 것을 시사한다. 교사의 제스처는 비언어적 의사소통 행동으로서 학생들의 인지적·정의적 발달을 돕는 매우 의미 있는 행동이며, 제스처 분석과 연구는 학생과의 관계를 위한 교육적인 전략적 제안을 제시하고 교육 효과성에도 기여할 것이다.

영문 초록

Although the gestures of elementary school teachers are very important and meaningful actions in the process of communicating with students, it is difficult to conduct systematic analysis because of the diverse and complex characteristics of human actions. In particular, for children who have grown up in the visual culture environment of various visual media these days, the teacher s gesture is an important communication behavior as one of the visualized media and is related to the problem of education. However, research on teacher gestures has been steadily progressed in relation to non-verbal communication studies, but studies that analyze them are rare, and the theoretical basis for analyzing and explaining them is insufficient. Therefore, in this study, the purpose of this study is to consider that rhetoric as a communication theory has educational significance and useful implications for analyzing teacher gestures. Accordingly, as a result of reviewing previous studies and literature, the most important factor in rhetorical success in ancient and modern rhetoric was the speaker, and when the speaker of rhetoric was viewed as a teacher, the teacher was deliberately engaged in a social role in order to contribute to persuasion to students. It is important to recognize that their right behavior is an important norm and that they themselves have been a decisive factor in communication. Teacher s gestures are non-verbal communication behaviors and are very meaningful actions that help students develop cognitive and affective, and ultimately, gesture research is an educational strategy for the relationship with students and will contribute to educational effectiveness.
