학술적 글쓰기에서 대학원 유학생의 발견 능력 향상을 위한 교육 내용 제안

국문 초록

본 연구는 학술적 글쓰기가 읽기와 쓰기가 결합된 ‘융합적 과제(Hybrid task)’의 성격을 갖지만 읽기를 고려한 연구가 부족함을 전제로 ‘읽기’ 중심으로 논의를 전개했다. 그래서 학술적 글쓰기 ‘저자성’에서 ‘발견(Discovery)’ 국면을 ‘쓰기를 위한 읽기’로 정리하고, 이 국면에서 ‘이해(comprehension)’를 ‘상황 모형(situation model)’과 ‘텍스트기저(textbase)’로 나누고 ‘발견 능력’을 구체화했다. 우선 ‘텍스트기저’ 차원에서의 교육 내용은 ‘발견 능력’ 향상을 위해서 텍스트의 수사적 구조에 대한 지식, 그리고 동일 화제를 다른 수사적 구조로 구성한 텍스트를 읽고 쓰는 것 등을 제안했다. 또한 ‘상황 모형’ 차원에서는 ‘응집성(coherence)’이 결핍된 텍스트를 통해서 추론 능력을 향상하도록 하고, 이때 떠오른 배경지식 등을 ‘자유글쓰기(free writing)’를 통해 표현하도록 제안했다. 또한 이와 같은 ‘발견’한 내용들은 ‘개요 쓰기’로 종합할 것을 제안했다.

영문 초록

This study developed a discussion around reading based on the premise that there have been little studies on it, though the academic writing is characterized by a ‘hybrid task’ combining reading and writing. It, therefore, arranged the aspect of ‘discovery’ as ‘reading for writing‘ in academic writing ‘authority’, dividing comprehension into situation model and textbase and specifying discovery ability at the aspect. At first, it suggested knowledge for the rhetorical structures of texts and both reading and writing of texts in which the same issues are constructed with different rhetorical structures, as the educational contents for enhancing discovery ability at the level of ‘textbase’. In addition, it encouraged foreign graduate students to enhance their inferential ability by using texts without coherence and express the emerging background knowledge through free writing, at the level of ‘situation model’. Moreover, it recommended to synthesize such ‘discovered’ contents to ‘outline writing’.
