응급실 다빈도 방문과 119 구급 이송 서비스 이용 분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 한국보건사회연구원과 국민건강보험공단의 한국의료패널(Version 1.6) 2017년 데이터를 이용해 개인 및 가구 특성, 응급 상황 특성이 119 구급차/개인용 차량의 이용 여부 및 응급실 방문 횟수에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 개인용 차량으로 응급실을 방문한 경우가 59.02%로 가장 많았으며, 다음으로 119 구급차가 18.89%로 나타났다. 또한 119 구급차 이용자가 개인용 차량의 이용자보다 통계적으로 유의하게 연령이 높고, 연간 총 가구소득이 낮으며, 질병보다 사고인 경우가 상대적으로 더 많았다. 더욱이 응급실 방문 횟수를 1회 방문과 2회 이상 방문으로 구분하여 비교할 경우에 개인용 차량의 이용자의 연령, 연간 총 가구소득, 이용 계절, 이용 이유 등에서 통계적으로유의하게 차이가 있었으나, 119 구급차 이용자의 특성 차이는 없었다. 119 구급 이송 서비스가 공공 안전망으로서사회적인 필수 서비스라고 할 때, 비응급환자의 119 신고 남용 또는 119 구급차 상습 이용에 따른 부작용을 해소하고한정된 구급 자원을 효율적으로 활용할 수 있는 방안 마련이 시급하다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to the socioeconomic and clinical characteristics associated with the use of 119 ambulance/private carsand the number of emergency room visits based on the 2017 data from the Korea Health Panel. The analysis revealed thatduring emergencies, the use of private cars (59.02%) was more common than 119 ambulance services (18.89%). Moreover,119 ambulance users were significantly older, had a lower annual total household income, and had relatively more accidentsthan diseases when compared to private car users. On comparing the number of emergency room visits between single andmultiple visits, there were statistically significant differences in age, total annual household income, season of use, andreasons for use for private car usage than 119 ambulances. The 119 ambulance service is an essential public safety net. Therefore, it is increasingly important to solve the frequent use of 119 ambulances by non-emergency patients, andefficiently utilize limited ambulance resources.
