한국어 학습자의 읽기 전략 사용 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 Mokhtari & Sheorey(2002)의 SORS(Survey of Reading Strategies)를 한국어 읽기 상황에 적용해 학습자들의 읽기 전략 사용 양상을 파악하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 구글(Google) 설문지를 제작하여 2020년 4월 6일부터 4월 17일까지 자료를 수집하였으며, 총 75명의 응답 결과를 SPSS 23.0으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과고급 학습자들의 읽기 전략 사용 빈도가 가장 높았으며, 중급 학습자, 초급 학습자가 그 뒤를 이었다. 또한 학습자들은 문제 해결 전략을 가장 선호하였으며 총체적 전략에 대한 선호도가 가장 낮았다. 또한 학습자의 수준에 따른 전략을 살펴보면, 학습자의 수준에 따라 선호하는 전략 사용에 차이를 보였으며, 전체 전략, 총체적 전략, 문제 해결 전략에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 또한 국적별 읽기 전략 사용에서도 중국인 학습자와 베트남인 학습자 간에 통계적으로 의미 있는 차이가 있었으며, 각 국적별로 주로 활용하는 읽기 전략이 상이한 것으로 확인되었다. 한국어 교육에서 SORS를 사용해 학습자들의 읽기 전략 양상을 파악한 연구가 거의 없다는 점에서 본 연구가 실증적 자료로 유용하게 활용될 수 있길 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand the aspects of learners use of reading strategies by applying the Survey of Reading Strategies (SORS) of Mokhati&Sheery (2002) to the Korean reading situation. Data was collected from April 6th to 17th in 2020 through a Google questionnaire. A total of 75responses were collected and was analyzed with SPSS23.0. The results of this study showed that advanced learners had the highest frequency of using strategies, followed by intermediate learners and beginners. In addition, there was a difference in the use of strategies preferred by the level of learners, and there was a statistically significant difference in overall strategies, global reading strategies, and problem-solving reading strategies. In the use of reading strategies by nationality, there was a meaningful difference between Chinese learners and Vietnamese learners, and it was confirmed that each nationality has a different reading strategy. Given that few studies have identified the aspects of learners reading strategies using SORS in Korean language education, we hope that this research will be useful as it contributes to the empirical study of this issue.
