국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 수학적 모델링 수업에서 나타나는 중학교 수학교사의 주목하기 특징을 분석하여, 수학적 모델링 수업 준비 및 수학적 모델링 수업을 위한 교사교육에 대한 시사점을 도출하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 중학교 1학년을 대상으로 하는 중학교 수학교사의 수학적 모델링 수업을 관찰하였다. 관찰의 초점은 교사가 학생이 수학적 모델링 활동 시 갖는 어떠한 인지적, 정의적 어려움에 주의를 기울이는지, 주목한 어려움을 어떻게 해석하고 대응하였는지에 있다. 그 결과, 학생들의 과도한 실세계 경험 몰입에서 드러나는 오류를 이용하여 수학적 모델 구성을 유도하는 교사 주목하기, 모둠 내 부적절한 사회문화적 규범을 개선하여 수학적 모델 다양화와 타당화를 유도하는 교사 주목하기가 관찰되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 성공적인 수학적 모델링 수업을 위해 학생들이 수학적 모델링 활동에서 갖는 인지적, 정의적 어려움에 대한 교사 지식이 필요하며, 이에 주목하고 적절히 대응할 수 있는 교사의 수업 전문성 신장이 이루어져야 함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of middle school mathematics teacher’s noticing in mathematical modelling lessons and to derive implications for teacher education for mathematical modelling lessons. We observed mathematical modeling lessons of middle school mathematics teacher, which involves the first grade students. The focus of observation was on what cognitive, affective and sociocultural difficulties the teacher attended to, and how he interpreted and responded to the difficulties. The results is as follows. Teachers attention was observed to induce the formation of mathematical models by taking advantage of errors revealed in students excessive immersion in real-world experience, and teachers attention to the diversification and rationalization of mathematical models by improving inappropriate social and cultural norms in the group. This study suggests that for successful mathematical modelling classes, teachers knowledge about difficulties students have in mathematical modeling activities is required, and that a teacher s expertise in teaching should be enhanced to pay attention and respond appropriately.
