영문 초록

This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of opening a new transportation route(Jangheung-Goheung) based on cost-benefit analysis. The cost-benefit analysis shows that the business feasibility exists with the B/C ratio of 1.19. It was also assessed that the project should be operated with support from governments for the purpose of public interest, such as convenience of transportation for local residents and promotion of marine tourism industry. This study shows that people needs to improve their awareness of eco-friendly and safe maritime transportation. Secondly, by using the cost-benefit analysis for the project feasibility assessment, we were able to recognize the importance of marine transportation for social factors such as reducing vehicle operating costs, reducing transit time, reducing traffic accidents, and reducing environmental costs. Finally, this study laid the foundation for the feasibility assessment of new marine transport projects by systematically organizing items of cost-benefit and selection of various factors for the new marine transport route development.
