국문 초록

본 최근 직업의 다양화, 기술의 발달, 가치관의 변화, 기대수명이 높아지면서 잦은 진로전환이 이루어지고 있다. 그동안 진로전환은 진로 부적응의 결과처럼 부정적으로 인식되어 오기도 했지만, 최근에는 삶과 일의 조화, 고용 형태와 일 환경의 변화, 자아실현욕구 증대 등 다양한 이유로 인하여 전 생애에 걸쳐 진로전환이 발생하고 있어 진로전환에 대한 새로운 조망과 인식이 필요한 시점이 되었다. 따라서 본 연구는 기혼여성 디자이너의 진로전환과정 이야기와 그 의미를 내러티브 탐구 방법을 통해 탐구하였다. 이를 위해 10년 정도의 디자이너 경력을 지닌 기혼여성 3명을 연구참여자로 선정하고, 우리는 그들이 진로전환을 시도하게 된 동기와 그들 각자 삶의 과정에서 작용한 맥락, 심리 내적 요인과 자원을 확인하고, 이 요소들이 삶의 의미에 어떤 영향을 주었는지 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 결과는 진로전환 개입이 전 생애적으로 확장되어야 함을 확인하고, 진로를 전환하고자 하는 이들에게 진로전환에 대한 긍정적 시각을 제공하였다. 본 연구가 사람들이 그들의 진로전환과정 속에서 자신만의 대처 방법을 찾는 데 도움이 되길 기대한다.

영문 초록

In the ongoing evolution with career diversification, technological development, changes in values, and longer life expectancy, it has become more common to see frequent career changes in recent days. Even until recently, career transition has been perceived negatively as a result of maladjustment, but now it becomes easier to see career transition throughout life for various reasons such as harmony between life and work, changes in the environments of employment and work, and increased desire for self-realization. It is the time to have a new perspective and awareness on career transition. In this circumstance, this study explores the story of married female designers’ career transition process and its meaning through a narrative inquiry. For this, the researchers selected three married female designers with 10 years of experience and explored their motivation to change their career paths, the contexts in which each of them worked in their career transition process, and psychological factors and resources. In addition, the researchers looked into how these factors influenced the meaning of their life. The study results confirmed that career transition intervention should be extended throughout the entire life cycle and provided a positive perspective on career transition to those who wish to change careers. We hope that this study could help people find their own ways of coping in their career transition process.
