국문 초록

본 연구는 학습자 중심 수업 참여 교수와 학생의 평가에 대한 인식을 탐색하기 위해 실시되었다. 본 연구를 위해 2019년 11월부터 12월까지 교수 11명과 학생 16명을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 시행하였으며, 수집된 자료는 질적 연구 방법인 근거이론을 통해 분석하였다. 개방코딩 결과, 40개의 범주가 도출되었고, 도출된 범주들은 17개의 상위 범주로 유목화되었다. 축코딩을 통해 범주들 간의 관계를 살펴본 결과, ‘타 강좌와 다르지 않은 평가 방법’, ‘교수·학습과 평가의 불일치’, ‘학습과정 평가의 부족’이라는 세 개의 중심현상이 도출되었고, 중심현상을 둘러싼 인과적, 맥락적, 중재적 조건이 분석되었다. 또한, 교수와 학생이 중심현상에 대처하기 위해 활용하는 작용/상호작용 전략과 이를 통해 형성된 결과가 드러났다. 결론적으로, 본 연구에서 핵심범주로 나타난 ‘교수와 학생의 평가 변화 필요 인식 형성’에 부응하는 대학의 평가제도 개선, 교육 및 시스템 지원의 필요성이 도출되었다.

영문 초록

This study explores professors’ and students’ perceptions of evaluation in student-centered classes. Focus group interviews were conducted with 11 professors and 16 students from November to December 2019, and the collected data were analyzed using grounded theory as a qualitative approach. As a result of open coding, 40 codes were derived and categorized into 17 concepts. Through axial coding, which investigates the relationships between the concepts, three core phenomena were established: ‘an evaluation that is not different from non student-centered classes , ‘disagreement between instruction and evaluation , and ‘a lack of formative evaluation.’ In addition, the causal, contextual, and intervening conditions surrounding the core phenomena were analyzed. The action/interaction strategies that professors and students used to manage the core phenomena under given conditions and the consequences formed through the strategies were also identified. Analysis of the selective code revealed turned out to be ‘formation of professors’ and students’ awareness of the need for changes in evaluation’, suggesting institutional, educational, and system support by the university is required.
