영문 초록

This paper research the efficiency of administrative areas in China. Along with economic and social development, the administrative areas need to adjust. At present, China has 34 province level administrative areas, include Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan. This paper use 31 province level administrative areas, and use Malmquist index, analyze the efficiency of administrative areas. This paper selects two input variables and one output variable. The input variables include the number of staff and Workers of public management and social organization, and regional government expenditure for general public services. The output variable is the regional GDP. This paper adjust the input and output variables by the administrative areas, and by regional population. The former is model 1, the latter is model 2. The result finds the China administrative areas structure has not efficiency improvement from 1997 to 2008. The Malmquist index is 0.930. And then, this paper considers the China administrative areas structure need to adjust afterdays.
