민주시민교육으로서 탈북청소년 윤리상담 프로그램 개발 및 적용에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 탈북학생을 위한 민주시민교육으로서 윤리상담 프로그램 개발 및 적용 사례 결과이다. 탈북학생들에게 윤리상담 프로그램을 적용하고 이들의 경험을 탐색한 질적 연구로 프로그램 실행 결과를 파악하는데 그 목적이 있다. 2019년 7월부터 9월까지 S대학교 강의실을 중심으로 H중고등학교 고등학생 6명에게 본 프로그램을 5회기에 걸쳐 적용하였으며 6명의 남한 대학생이 함께 참여했다. 연구방법은 실제 운영 참여 관찰, 심층 인터뷰, 연구자 기록 등을 연구 자료로 활용하였으며 질적 연구 방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 프로그램 적용 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 탈북학생들은 프로그램 참여를 통해 북한과 남한 사회를 비교하고 차이점을 인식하며 남한의 가치 및 사회문화를 깊이 이해하고 이에 친숙해졌다. 둘째, 탈북학생들은 통일에 대한 의견을 나눌 때 동포, 한민족, 우리라는 단어를 많이 사용했다. 셋째, 탈북학생들은 한민족이라는 강한 민족정체성을 갖고 있었으나 남한의 법체계, 가치체계, 정치체제, 사회문화를 낯설게 느꼈으며 대한민국 국민이라는 국가정체성은 한민족정체성보다 약한 모습을 드러냈다. 넷째, 탈북학생들은 남한 학생과의 활동을 통해 남한주민을 더 많이 이해하고 친밀감을 갖게 되었다고 고백했다. 다섯째, 탈북학생들은 윤리상담 프로그램 참여를 통해 자기성찰, 남북 차이점 인식, 남한주민과의 연대감, 공동체 의식, 집단에의 귀속의식을 발전시키게 되었다고 진술했다. 결과적으로 탈북학생들은 프로그램에 참여하는 횟수가 증가할수록 남한 사회의 구성원으로서의 안정된 소속감을 보여주었다.

영문 초록

This study is an example of applying the ethics consultation program as a democratic citizenship education for North Korean refugees. This is a qualitative research that applies ethics consultation programs to North Korean refugee students and explores their experiences. From July to September 2019, the Ethics Consulting Program was applied 5 times to 6 North Korean refugees. The research method used actual observation of participation in the operation, in-depth interviews, and researcher records as research data, and a qualitative research method was used. The results of the application of the program are as follows. First, North Korean refugees became familiar with and understood South Korea s values and social culture. Second, North Korean refugees used the words ‘The Korean compatriots’, ‘The Korean ethnic’, and ‘We’ more than South Korean students when they shared their opinions on reunification. Third, North Korean refugees have a strong ethnic identity of the Korean race, but they have a weak national identity for the Republic of Korea people. Fourth, North Korean refugees became more understanding and intimacy with South Koreans through their activities with South Korean students. Fifth, North Korean refugees developed self-reflection, the feeling of solidarity with South Koreans, and community spirit. As a result, North Korean refugees showed a stable sense of belonging as a member of South Korean society as the number of participants in the program increased.
