국문 초록

전 세계를 강타한 코로나 바이러스의 영향으로 다양한 화상매체를 활용한 새로운 시도들이 실행되고 있다. 이러한 현실을 반영하여, 본 연구는 온라인 공간을 활용한 국제교육실습의 실행가능성을 탐색하고자 실시되었다. 연구의 목적을 위해 국제교육실습에 참여한 예비교사들의 실습록을 통해 드러난 현장 국제교육실습참여의 경험의 내용을 살펴보았으며, 이를 기반으로 온라인 국제교육실습의 실행가능성을 탐색해 보았다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 온라인 국제교육실습은 ‘실제적 경험’에 대한 제공이 어렵기 때문에 예비교사들의 다문화 역량 강화, 실습상황에서의 위치 및 자세, 학생들이 체감하는 긍정적 반응 등을 기대하기 어렵다. 또한, 운영을 위해 현실적으로 고려해 보아야 할 부분들에 대한 한계가 있기에 현실 가능성이 낮다. 하지만, UNICEF와 같은 국제기구와의 협력을 통해 새로운 형태의 온라인 국제교육실습을 통한 예비교사들의 다문화 역량 강화, 언어역량 강화, 교사 전문성 신장, 개인적 성장 등을 기대할 수 있다고 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Due to the influence of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) that has hit the whole world, new attempts at using various kinds of video media have been implemented. By reflecting the current situation, the purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of implementing online international teaching practicum. For the purpose of the study, we looked at the contents of the student-teachers’ experience in their participation in International Teaching Practicum (ITP), and based on this, we explored the feasibility of online ITP. The result of this study are as follows. Online international teaching practicum is unlikely to be realistic because it is difficult to provide ‘practical experience’ to the student-teachers in terms of strengthening their multicultural competence, positionality and attitude in the online international teaching practicum scene, and positive reflection on their ITP experience. In addition, the possibility of this becoming a reality is rather low due to the limitations on what needs to be realistic for operation. However, through a type of educational volunteering service with international organizations such as UNICEF, it has been suggested that pre-service teachers can expect to strengthen their language skills, enhance their professionality, and boost their personal growth through a new type of online international teaching practicum.
