성격강점 관련 연구 동향 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 유·초·중등·대학생의 성격강점 연구 동향을 비교하여 살펴봄으로써 성격강점 관련 연구의 기초자료를 제공하고, 향후 연구 전망 및 과제를 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 2010년부터 2019년 사이에 유·초·중등·대학생 대상 성격강점 관련 국내 학술지 논문 62편을 추출하여 성격강점의 일반적 동향(연구시기 및 학술분야별), 연구주제별, 연구 방법별로 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 연구시기는 2015년 중반에 접어들면서 증가하였고, 연구 대상별 학술지 동향을 보면, 유아 4건, 초등 18건, 중등 15건, 대학 25건의 학술지가 발표되었다. 둘째, 연구 방법별 동향을 보면 ‘조사연구’가 가장 많이 사용되었고, 그 다음은 ‘실험연구; ‘문헌연구’, ‘도구 및 프로그램개발’, ‘질적연구’ 순이었다. 셋째, 연구주제별 변인에서는 성격강점과 ‘행복’과의 관계를 파악하는 연구가 가장 많았고, ‘적응문제’, ‘진로 및 직업’ 외 불안, 우울, 스트레스 등 심리·정서적 변인 순이었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 반영하여 논의 및 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study compares and observes trends in research on the personality strengths of preschool, elementary school, middle school, and university students to provide base material for research related to personality strengths and to present future research prospects and tasks. For this, 64 Korean journal theses related to the personality strengths of preschool, elementary school, middle school, and university students from the year 2010 to 2019 were extracted and analysis was conducted according to the general trends (by research period and academic field), research topics, and research methods of personality strength studies. Research results showed that first, by research period, research increased since mid-2015 and observations of journal trends by research subject show that 4 journals were presented on preschool students, 18 on elementary students, 15 on middle school students, and 25 on university students. Second, observations on trends by research method showed that investigative studies were used the most and following were experimental studies , literary studies , tool and program development , and qualitative studies , in that order. Third, with variables by research topic, most studies were related to the relationship between personality strengths and happiness and following were ‘adjustment issues’, ‘career paths and occupations’ and psychological and emotional variables such as anxiety, depression, and stress, in that order. Reflecting upon these research results, proposals were made for discussions and future research.
