유아교사가 인식하는 유아국악교육의 의미와 어려움

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 국악교육을 경험한 유아교사가 인식하는 유아국악교육의 의미와 어려움의 실제를 심층적으로 살펴보기 위함이다. 이를 위해 유아교사들 중 국악교육 경험이 있는 전·현직교사 5명을 연구 참여자로 선정하였으며 면담은 모두 개인면담으로 이루어졌다. 연구결과 국악교육을 경험한 교사들에게 유아국악교육은 한국적 흥과 신명을 끌어내고 즐기게 하는 국악, 유아 간 함께 흥을 즐기며 사회적 연결을 이어주는 국악, 유아와 교사관계 간 소통의 장이되는 국악, 신체활동의 대안으로서 유아의 스트레스 해소 기능을 하는 국악, 타 교과와 통합매체로서의 활용성이 높은 국악, 일과 및 연계활동에서의 활용성이 높은 국악으로서 의미가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 유아국악교육에서 교사가 갖는 어려움에는 국악에 대한 교사의 전문적 이해 부족, 국악교육에 필요한 ‘흥’이 부족한 교사의 특성, 국악기 연주 기능교육에 필요한 교사의 전문성 부족, 국악교육을 위해 필요한 여건 조성의 어려움이 있었다. 본 연구는 유아국악교육의 전문적 활성화를 위한 교사교육측면에서의 방안 모색을 위한 의미있는 자료로서의 의의를 가진다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate in depth the meaning and difficulty of early childhood traditional music education perceived by early childhood teachers who experienced Korean traditional music education. For this study five former and current early childhood teachers who had experience of Korean traditional music education were selected as participant and all interviews were individual interviews. According to the results, Korean traditional music education has many meaningsto teachers who have experienced Korean traditional music education. The meanings can be summarized as follows: Korean traditional music that draws Heung-Pleasure and merriment- and Shinmyeong-exhilaration-, facilitates social connections between children by enjoying Heung, relieves stress of children as an alternative to physical activity, used as media that could be integrated with other subjects, and has high availability in daily routines and connected activities. The difficulties of teachers in early childhood traditional music education can be summarized as follows: the lack of teacher s professional understanding of Korean traditional music, the characteristics of teachers lack of Heung, the lack of professionalism of teachers need to teach Korean traditional musical instruments, and the difficulty in creating the conditions necessary for Korean traditional music education. This study is significant as a meaningful data for finding ways of teacher education for professional activation of early childhood traditional music education.
