The Carbon Ceramic Composites (C-Sic) are advanced materials used in various fields such as aerospace, semiconductor, and automobile parts. Carbon-ceramic composites have high strength and excellent heat resistance, but they have a high brittleness, which is difficult to machine with general processing techniques. Development of processing techniques is need to improve the accuracy of the product. Laser Assisted Machining (LAM) is known as an efficient method to machine high strength materials. LAM is a method of cutting the workpiece by preheating with a laser heat source and lowering the strength of the material. Currently, LAM of Carbon Ceramic Composites hasn`t been studied much. In this study, the finite element analysis was performed to obtain basic research data on LAM using Carbon Ceramic Composites. Through finite element analysis, basic data on the preheating effect such as temperature distribution and effective depth of cut according to laser power using Carbon Ceramic Composite material were obtained.
