영문 초록

This study presents development of expert system for the process and die design of hot extrusion through square dies. The design of extrution dies is still an art rather than a science with increasing complexity of shape, thinness of section. Therefore, much die design is still dependent on personal judgement, intuition and experience. The objective of the this study is to develop a expert system which include a rule base system extracted from literatures and experts in the extrusion industry. Also, Finite element simulation program is included in the system. The results of this study are used to design the dies with reduced lead time and trial extrusion.
