국문 초록

21세기 우리나라는 사회화, 정보화, 분권화, 다양화 등 급변하는 사회 속에서 10~20대 자살은 최근 수년 동안 사망률 1위를 차지하고 있다. 자살은 더 이상 개인적인 문제를 벗어나 사회적 문제로 대두되었으며 자살을 예방하기 위한 근본적인 원인과 방법을 찾아 대책을 강구할 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 또한, 우리 군은 전투력을 보존하면서 사기가 충전해야 함에도 불구하고 군 복무 중 자살은 사기저하 및 국민의 신뢰를 실추시키는 요인으로 작용하고 있다. 이 연구는 우선 자살에 대한 이론적 고찰을 살펴 본 후 군 장병 자살 관련 선행 연구와 자살을 하는 원인을 분석하고, 자살 예방을 위한 대책을 살펴보고자 한다. 또한 군 복무중의 자살이 단순한 개인적 자유의지에 의한 것인지 아니면 자유의지가 배제된 직무관련성에 의한 것인지 살펴보고, 군 장병의 자살이 군 복무 특성상 개인의 책임을 벗어나 국가의 책임을 검토함으로써 국가가 피해를 보상해 주어야 할 필요가 있는지 살펴 볼 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

In 21 century, South Korea has rapidly changed as a result socialization, information-oriented, decentralization and diversification, teenage to 20’s suicide rate has had high death rate for several years. Suicide is not only personal problem but social issue. Thus, it emphasizes the necessity of looking into root cause and drawing up measures to prevent suicide. Even though Republic of Korea Army obligation is to preserve combat power and boost their morale, soldiers suicide leads to collapse their morale. moreover, it lowers national reliability. First of all, this research deals with theoretical suicide and then investigates preceding military personnel suicide research analysis, suicde cause analysis, prevention of suicide. Also, this research figures out whether suicide in military is caused by individual will or duyt relation excluding personal will. Additionally, it is necessary to examine responsibility of nation on soldiers suicide which is considered non-personal responsibility. By doing so, it is needed to study whether nation could give soldiers national indemnies.
